Nonprofit websites that turn interest into action.

A nonprofit website should help a person get support, volunteer, donate, attend, partner, or contact the right person without guessing. I build accessible websites around those actions, then give staff a system they can operate after launch.

The job of the website

Every important visitor should know what to do next.

The navigation, page structure, forms, and calls to action are organized around audience needs, not internal departments.

01

Help people find support

Explain programs in plain language, identify eligibility or next steps, and route requests to the right person or form.

02

Turn interest into participation

Give volunteers, partners, donors, and event attendees a clear path to act while the motivation is present.

03

Give staff control

Use a practical content system, documented ownership, training, and a launch handoff that does not leave routine updates with a developer.

Website implementation

What a nonprofit website build can include.

  • Audience and action-path planning
  • Information architecture and page structure
  • Responsive visual design
  • Accessible front-end development
  • Program and service pages
  • Volunteer and partner entry points
  • Donation links to the approved giving platform
  • Events, resources, impact, and contact pages
  • Forms routed to the agreed owner
  • Analytics, metadata, sitemap, and structured data
  • Staff-managed content where supported
  • Training, QA, launch, and stabilization

Donation pages link to the platform the organization already uses or approves. mu works does not process donations itself. Final pages, integrations, content responsibilities, and data boundaries are defined in the project scope.

Beyond the public page

The website can start the operational workflow instead of creating another inbox.

  1. 01

    Website action

A visitor chooses to volunteer, request support, attend, donate, partner, or contact the organization.

  2. 02

    Structured handoff

The form or link routes the person and the needed information to the correct workflow and owner.

  3. 03

    Operational follow-through

Volunteer activity can move into many hands, while program evidence and impact information can support Yui grant work.

The Domino Affect nonprofit website designed and built by mu works

Nonprofit client work

Public websites built around the work each organization needs to explain.

For The Domino Affect, I built the brand system and website, including staff-managed content, an admin portal, recorded training, and ownership of the code and data.

For The Accountability Foundation, I built a focused public path for The A.C.C.O.U.N.T. Model™, its intended audiences, and ways to connect.

Website questions

What small nonprofit teams usually need to know.

Can staff update the website after launch?
Yes, where the agreed content system supports it. I define ownership, configure practical editing controls, and provide training so normal updates do not require a developer.
Can the site connect to our donation platform?
Yes. The website can route giving to the platform the organization already uses or approves. mu works does not process donations itself.
Will the website be accessible and mobile friendly?
Responsive and accessible development are part of the build approach. Exact testing standards and any third-party content limitations are documented in scope.
Do you only work with nonprofits in Louisville?
mu works is based in New Albany and primarily serves Louisville, Southern Indiana, and nearby communities. Remote projects can be considered when the scope and ownership model fit.
